The history of wound closure has been in existence as long as human being itself. From the early techniques and remedies used by hunter-gatherer all the way to Louis Pasteur’s Germ Theory of Disease, human being has never stopped its quest to find better solution to wound closure. Evolving from the mere realization of the necessity to stop bleeding, the importance of hygiene, to the advent of wound-site dressing and sterilization, there have been a great many wound closure technique developments across time, geography, and culture which had been produced, used, and replaced by newer developments.
